Cast copper-alloy strap fitting. Possibly Roman period. Mass: 17.0g; diameter: 40.0mm, depth: 9.0mm; internal length of loop: 19.3mm. The fitting consists of a sub-circular plate with an integral rectangular loop on the reverse. The plate has incomplete edges. The front of the fitting is plain with slight pitting. There are a series of grooved finishing marks on the reverse.

Cast copper-alloy Polden Hill brooch. Roman period, c. AD 75-175. Mass: 30.5g; length: 63.4mm; width: 24.8mm; depth (including pin): 29.7mm. T-shaped in plan with a bow which is arched in profile. Semi-cylindrical side-wings with pierced end-caps. The spring and incomplete pin are secured within the spring cover by a copper-alloy axial rod held by the pierced end caps; the external chord is secured by a hook on the head. A complete copper-alloy Roman Hod Hill brooch. It has a flattened bow terminal that is rolled forwards to form cylindrical wings and encase the iron axis bar. At the centre of the wings is a small rectangular slot through which the copper-alloy pin hinges. The bow itself has a flat back and moulded front face. At the head it has two moulded transverse grooves separated by a slight constriction. The centre of the bow is square in plan with side projections that terminate in globular knobs. A 17th century copper alloy trade token of John Ray of Spalding. Townsend (1983) writes 'John Ray was grandfather of the Rev. Benjamin Ray, Perpetual Curate of Cowbit and Surfleet (who was elected a member of the Spalding Gentlemen's Society in 1723), and a relative of the founder, Maurice Johnson.' (p. 50).

An incomplete copper-alloy brooch of Roman date. It is missing the spring and pin due to old breaks. The wings are semi-cylindrical in form with diagonal grooves on the front faces. Between the wings is a projecting head that is oval shaped in form with a rear-facing hook and incised decoration in the form of two grooves that create a cross saltire on the front face. The bow has a flat back and moulded, projecting front face.
