A cast, copper alloy, medieval horse harness pendant, dating from 1300-1400AD. The pendant is quatrefoil in shape, with a small, pointed protrusion between each of the lobes. One of the lobes extends into a flattened suspension loop at right angles to the plane of the main body. The pendant carries the device of a saltire with a central dot. This dot appears to penetrate completely through the pendant, being visible on the underside, and may be some form of copper alloy rivet. A very worn copper alloy harness pendant of Medieval date. The pendant is flat and quatrefoil in plan. At the top of the quatrefoil is an integral circular suspension loop set at right angles to the front face and with a circular perforation. The suspension loop has worn away at the very top end and has a slight break. The front face of the pendant is decorated with a central, triangular shaped shield containing a lion rampant.
