Object type: HOOKED TAG
Broad period: POST MEDIEVAL
County: Nottinghamshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A cast copper alloy hooked tag. It consists of a central plate, rectangular loop, and a hook. The central plate is decorated with a raised design of a berry or pineapple, set between a 'v' shape and surrounded by 12 openwork circles (two of which are blocked with corrosion). It measures 36.7mm x 15.8mm x 2.0mm, and weighs 3.14g. Parallels for this date to the post-Medieval, c.1500-1650AD. (NLM-F35FF8, SUSS-CCBA93). …
