Medieval worn and corroded fragment of possibly unusual buckle, plate of (1.5mm) thick sheet originally in the form of a bird, body and wings separated by rounded remains of roughly keyhole-shaped spaces. >18 x 32mm. Pin slot, no frame recesses but one surviving tiny spiked projection (originally on both sides) next to fold. The rear part is only 10mm long.
