An incomplete cast copper alloy toy or miniature cauldron, dating to the late Medieval or early Post Medieval period, 1400 – 1600 AD. In plan the cauldron is irregular with a rounded body. It has a sagging base which flares into the rounded body and then tapers inward at the neck before expanding again to form a flared rim. Two diametrically opposed ‘lug-like’ looped handles are positioned from the rim to the flaring belly of the pot. The cross section of these loops is lentoid (rod like). From the base of the pot three legs extend. One of these is broken near the junction with t…

a Medieval sheet copper alloy badge or mount. It is flat with a zoomorphic shape, suggesting a horse's head, with a short, rounded body and tail bent round over the back creating an openwork pattern. The head and body are outlined with stamped ring and dot motifs, one of which forms an 'eye'. Two larger ring and dots decorate the body area. There is corrosion on the lower part of the 'tail'. The openwork upper part is covered with small ring and dot, and is incomplete due to old breaks. There are traces of gilding on the upper surface. The badge/mount measures 43.69mm in length and 12.…

Fragment of a devotional plaque A fragment of a double-sided plaque, cast on one side with a possible Madonna and child, and on the other a scene with three saints. The item is possibly a Catholic devotional token, not necessarily English in origin, judging by the Madonna figure's veil and cloak. The plaque has three surviving projecting knops. The object is probably of silver, but as the style and facture suggest a post-1706 date, possibly 19th century or later, the object is not thought to qualify as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.

One surface is inscribed with rough marking remeninscent of those seen on a sundial, but the material would be an unusual choise for a porcket sundial or similar. In all, the object is probably of postmedieval date, but must remain unidentified for the present.
