Complete cast copper-alloy Later Medieval dagger chape. The chape has been formed by the curling round of a single sheet of copper-alloy into a cone shape with slits in the nose so that the edges fold to a point. Two holes are punched into the upper edge of the chape for attachment to the body of the scabbard. Chapes of this type are typically dated c.1300-1500 AD.

Early Medieval silver coin, early Secondary Phase. Series G sceat (Type 3a, North ref: 43). The obv. shows a diademed bust R. with cross before. The reverse shows a standard with pellet in annulet at the centre and a cross in each angle. The coin is a probable contemporary copy or 'imitative'. The metal appears to be debased with the corrosion indicative of a copper component.

The item is essentially an elongated triangular shape with two circular rivet holes at the base of the triangle and a further single rivet hole at the tip of the elongated (round-ended) apex. A complete cast copper-alloy pin of probable mid-late Anglo-Saxon date. The pin shaft, which is circular in section, is bent at a sharp right-angle about three-quarters along its length. The head is globular (bi-conical) with a slight fine collar where it meets the shaft. The patina is a rich mid green. A fragment of a pair of cast copper-alloy tweezers of probable mid-late Anglo-Saxon date. The portion remaining is one half of the sub-triangular pincers. The tweezer edge has a slightly curled over end. The exterior is decorated with ring and dot design. Tweezers of this type are typically dated as Anglo-Saxon but similiar examples are known from Roman contexts. In this case the close association of other Anglo-Saxon material makes the later date more likely. Dated c.700-900 AD.

A worn and corroded incomplete cast copper-alloy mid-late Anglo-Saxon strap end. The strap-end is essentially a flat oval in shape with a break at the point where the V shaped split, which forms the attachment for such items, would have been. The reverse is plain and the front carries a pointed zoomorphic head with snout and flattened ears as the terminal whilst the main body of the strap-end was probably decorated with interlacing design but is now too corroded to be certain. This type of strap end falls into the classification category Thomas Class A (probably Type 1). Dated c.700-900 AD.

The reverse is plain and the front carries a pointed zoomorphic head with snout and flattened ears as the terminal whilst the main body of the strap-end is decorated with interlacing design of probable Trewhiddle style. This type of strap end falls into the classification category Thomas Class A Type 1. Dated c.700-900 AD.

A complete cast lead double-ended seal matrix of Post-Medieval, seventeenth century date (AD 1600 – AD 1700). Length: 20.8mm; maximum diameter: 13.8mm. Weight: 23.05g. The seal has been crudely manufactured and is roughly hourglass-shaped. It is sub-circular throughout out its length and narrows from each end towards the centre where the minimum diameter is 9.4mm. Each end is in the form of a die that has probably been cut rather than being cast as such. One die is in the form of a circle close to the edge which has a diameter of 4.0mm. An almost complete cast copper alloy and gilded book clasp of Howsam type A.10 and of Medieval date (possibly c. AD 1200 - c. AD 1400). Length: 39.0mm; width: 24.2mm and 5.8mm thick. Weight: 15.81g. This object is roughly shield-shaped overall, and comprises a semi-circular body with an integral trapezoidal plate at the attachment end and a terminal at the other end.
