An incomplete cast copper alloy and gilded mount of Post-Medieval seventeenth century date (AD 1600 – AD 1700). Length: 24.8mm; width: 17.3mm and 9.0mm thick. Weight: 3.53g. The mount is lozenge-shaped in plan and is slightly convex at the front and slightly concave at the rear. At the front it is decorated with a border of pellets which encloses a pattern of informal lines of similar pellets. The rear face has two integral spikes on the longitudinal centre-line.
