A late Roman 'plain loop' belt buckle and plate. The sinuously-profiled pin remains intact.
The buckle has a lozenge shaped loop, and a large, rectangular, undecorated plate, bearing two large copper alloy rivets.
Such buckles date to the 3rd and 4th centuries AD, and were in common use amongst the military.

A copper alloy snake figurine, of probable postmedieval date. The snake is flattened in the horizontal plane, and thus cannot have been suffered signifiantly from post-depositional deformation. Its body is simple and cylindrical, with sinuous curves, and it head is equally rudimentarily rendered, with an unadorned, gaping mouth, and two copper alloy studs for eyes.
A postmedieval date seems likely, but no close parallels could be found.

Palaeolithic flint hand axe, 61mm long, 48mm wide and 18mm thick. The axe is in good condition and made from brown flint, with some re-cortication, and weighs 51.26 grams.
The axe is bi-facially worked and has a plano-convex cross section. It has a scraper edge, a damaged cutting edge and a curved chopping edge.
Dr Kevin Leahy writes: this object appears to be a Middle Palaeolithic 'bout coupe'' handaxe and is therefore of some interest.

An incomplete and misshapen copper alloy sewing thimble of Medieval date (c. AD 1350 – c. D 1450). Length: 15.2mm; width: 20.0mm and 0.5mm thick. Weight 1.93g.
This thin-walled thimble is a “beehive” shape and may have been cast and the thickness of the walls is about 0.6mm. The surviving outer surface of the thimble, including the apex, has punched circular indentations which have been punched in a consistent manner.
