Part of a cast copper alloy leg from a Medieval to Post Medieval vessel. The leg is flat in cross section with convex rounded edges and a flat front and back. The leg terminates in a rounded but plain end with no clear 'foot', at the top is an old break. There are traces of sooting on the front.
This is possibly an example of Butler, Green and Payne (2009, pg 4) Type 'a', lacking the foot. This type was widespread in the Medieval period with examples known into the early 17th century.
