An unidentified cast lead alloy object, possibly a hilt of a toy sword, or handle of a similar item. The object is oval in section and thickens before tapering to a point. The other end flares slightly to an elongated oval terminal, possibly representing the guard of the sword. A depression in the centre of this end suggests that this may be a break. The object is decorated over its entire surface with small raised motifs. A Medieval copper alloy strap clasp with a decorative plate cast in the form of a fleur in place of one outside edge. The upper and lower sides of the frame are slightly convex and the other outside edge has a bar for attachment of a folded plate (now lost). The decorative plate is level with the top of the clasp, and the inner edge of this plate is in the form of a curving V shape. Part of a copper alloy book clasp. The clasp was made from a single flat rectangular strip of copper alloy folded over and riveted together. The fold has broken, leaving two riveted strips. The upper, slightly wider strip terminates in an expanded end, with a scrolling edge split into two parts by a V-shaped notch. Each of these parts has a stamped dot and circle motif (now barely visible) with a central motif above. This upper strip has a narrower curved strip forming the fold one end, now broken. A copper alloy dress hook, cast as one piece with the hook end bent upwards over the upper surface. The main part of the object is curved (convex). This is lozenge-shaped with two pierced lobes at the hook end, one either side of the stem of the hook and a rectangular panel containing a row of pellets between them. The hexagonal central area has a foliate design with a central quartered berry and four leaves in cross formation with four small circular berries between. A rectangular copper alloy fragment with a flat back and a very slightly convex upper surface. In the centre of this surface is a square grip with finely incised cross-hatching. One end terminates in two ridges across the width of the strip,just before a break. The function of this fragment is not known.
