Romano-British button and loop fastener of Wild's Class VIb dating to the 2nd century. The fastener weighs 7.11g and is cast copper alloy. The fastener comprises of two main parts; The loop fastener part is mostly broken off but appears to have originally been a curved triangle shape. The narrow curved end of the triangle which remains on the fasterner, turns into a rod and bends 90 degrees to attach to the top of the button or head. The fastener comprises of two main parts; The loop fastener part is an elongated triangle about 21mm long, the narrow end of the triangle turns into a rod and bends 90 degrees to attach to the button element.
