Copper alloy brooch fragment, Colchester derivative type with double pierced lug spring attachment. Upper bow and one wing only. The wing has a single terminal groove. The bow is a narrow high D-section, almost triangular in section. Surviving width 13mm, surviving length 18mm.

Copper alloy brooch, Colchester derivative type with double pierced lug spring attachment. Missing pin and part spring; bow bent. Undecorated wings. The bow is flat backed and convex fronted with a groove along each edge; it tapers to a blunt point. The upper bow has a strong centre rib, which is flanked by another groove, giving the upper bow a ribbed appearnce. The catchplate is plain with a pin groove. Width 19mm, length 40mm. Copper alloy brooch, Colchester derivative type with double pierced lug spring attachment and fluted bow. Missing pin and most of the spring; areas of corrosion and of concretion. Undecorated wings. Traces of an incised zigzag along bow centre. Catchplate is not pierced and has a pin groove (obscured by concretion). Width 16mm, Length 38mm. Similar to West Stow (West 1989, EAA 48, 69-70) no.156 and many others.

Copper alloy brooch, large Colchester derivative type with double pierced lug spring attachment and fluted bow. Missing part of the catchplate edge, part of double lug and part of pin; the axis bar is bent and part spring is detached. 10-turn spring. The wings have a single terminal groove and a pair of grooves next to the bow junction. Roman enamelled copper alloy Headstud bow brooch, of Late 1st to 2nd century AD date. The brooch is incomplete, missing the pin and catch-plate, but has well preserved enamel. The spring mechanism is present and is made on comparatively thick wire around an iron axis bar. The spring is attached by means of separate centre lugs, as is common on Headstud brooches. The top lug to secure the chord is missing. There is no evidence for a chain-loop at the head. The raised circular headstud is topped with red enamel.
