The item has two curved side arms with outward curving nibs. Only approximately one quarter remains. Originally bun-shaped, circular and with a hole through the centre. Decorated with two bands on the top, and four around the centre. Diam. 40mm, height 14mm.<\/p>\n<p>4. Sub-rectangular block of jet, possibly split from a larger block. The current example differs only in that the two spirals are spaced further apart and the hoop is perhaps very slightly larger. The fabric is white\/cream with traces of an orange slip suggesting that this is a Nene-Valley colour coated ware. This shard was however discovered with the use of a metal detector; a small tablet-shaped piece of copper-alloy is stuck to the base, with what might be a thin layer of iron corrosion lining the interior.
