This tool has a pointed oval shape with an angular notch in one side. The notch is a result of thermal fracture but the knapper has worked around this in the process of creating the biface. The tool has no cortex remaining and flake removal scars cover both surfaces. There is evidence of more concentrated working along the left edges on both surfaces. The flint is pale grey with an orange patina. The edges are still sharp and there is very little damage or evidence of rolling.

Dimensions: length: 126.74mm; width: 73.49mm; thickness: 33.24mm; weight: 252.00g. conservation

Identification by Jon Cotton, Senior Prehistoric Curator Museum of London.

"datefound1":null,"datefound2":null
"ruler1":null,"ruler2":null
"numdate1":"-500000","numdate2":"-300

A Prehistoric flint scraper. This is a secondary flake with approximately 10% of the cortex remaining on the dorsal surface and approximately 1% on the ventral surface. The flake is roughly triangular in plan with the butt forming a point and the proximal end forming a wide edge. There is some retouch along the proximal edge.
