An early medieval silver Sceat dating to c. AD 710-765. The obverse has a quilled crescent coiled left. A tubular body encloses two parallel bars, a cross pommee, an annulet and an angular symbol. The reverse is a degenerate TOTII in beaded standard, crosses at the side, one of which is only partially visible. Length: 27.4mm; Width at widest but broken section: 15.3mm; Thickness: 0.6mm; Weight: 1.13g Ref: Abramson (2006: 86) Series E, variety A, E100.

The coin appears to have been doublestruck leading to some blundering of the inscription. obverse: EDP[  ]EC with facing left bust, sceptre in left hand.  The obverse is not very clear and may possibly have been double struck.  Reverse: EADGAR ON LVVDN (VD ligated) depicting an expanding voided short cross.
