Cast lead trade weight or net weight, a flat rectangular prism in profile, with an integral attachment loop with a perforation hole of about 6 mm in diameter. The base is rectangular in section but not flat so that the weight is not free-standing. It is 32.3 mm in length, 16.6 mm in width and 6 mm in thickness at it base and 5 mm in thickness at its attachment loop. The weight weighs about 19.94 grams which equates to about three quarters of an ounce averdepois.
Biggs & Withers (2000) illustrate a similar weight on page 31, No.67, which is probably medieval.
Bailey (DF2) also illustrates a similar weight on page 32, No.36, but does not date it.
