Lead steelyard weight. A cast ovoid weight with a central moulded aperture of diameter 7.3mm. Dented and abraded, patinated overall. This would appear to be a Roman weight from which the iron suspension loop was withdrawn leaving no trace of its presence, so before the object was deposited. The mass is uncertain, though considerably exceeding the 500gm limit of scales available to this reporter. Suggested date: Roman, 43-410.
