An incomplete copper alloy unidentified object of trapezoidal form, with two parallel short edges and long edges which narrow from the complete, wider end to the broken, shorter end. The object is narrowest at the wide end (11.4x1.9mm) and thickest at the short end (6.3x4.5mm). The break is old and worn, and oval in cross-section. There is some possible (old) damage to the wider end. The metal has a browny-purple patina and is rough to touch, with a lighter brown surface concretion on both faces. It measures 20.6mm in length, 11.4mm in max.width, 4.5mm in max.thickness and weighs 3.36g.
Whilst perhaps a little thick for the purpose, the object is similar in shape to the 'eraser' end of a Roman or medieval stylus.
