Most of the hoop no longer survives; the breaks are very worn. There appears to be a backwards capital letter \u2018P\u2019 on the bezel, but the surface is badly pitted, making the rest of the motif difficult to see. There maybe a line adjacent to the backwards P. It is equally possible that this is in fact a letter \u2018R\u2019. This finger ring could be a signet ring, used to seal documents, in which case the letter on the bezel would appear the correct way around on the wax seal. The surface is a mid greenish-grey colour but is very corroded.
