Terminal or furniture fitting in the form of a lion's head and body. Details of mane and eyes crudely incised. 'Pug-faced'. Lion is in a reclining position, its front legs stretched in front and traces of hind legs survive. The under surface is flat. The core is filled with lead and part of a lead terminal for attachment protrudes from the body. The surface has a number of pits containing pale green powder. No exact parallel or function can be suggested.

Notes:

The exact function of this object is unknown. Crudity of the design may suggest a local manufacture. Lion terminals were used to decorate a variety of objects such as axle caps, furniture, knives…
