Copper alloy fragment of the side of a spur, between the crest and the terminal, but broken at both ends so that neither the crest nor the terminal remains. The side is hemispherical in section. The fragment is decorated on the outer face with punched annulets and crescents which form three fleurets with stems, one at either end, where the fragment has been sheared off, and one in the centre within a border of two incised lines on either side of the fleuret. Between the border and the outer fleuret on each side, there are six tight rows of punched annulets, creating a background for the more ornate elements.
Late 17th-century.
