A flake scraper or knife dating to the mid Acheulean period (c. -200,000 BP or earlier). The object is heavily patinated on one of its surfaces and is made of a flint of fairly coarse greyish/buff colour. It was probably made by striking a core with a hammer and the sharp edge re-touched to create the final form. The piece is only worked one one face and the shape is roughly amygdaloid. The level of abraision shows that the implement has been much rolled and is therefore re-deposited. It has also suffered slightly from modern damage. It measures 88.42mm long by 50.66mm wide and 22.86mm thick. It weighs 80.75g.","","","2004-09-02 13:39:46","2011-02-24 13:50:54","4","","1","2004-08-01","","","","","1","1","1","1","1","","","","","jwatters","Julian Watters","BH","dpett","Daniel Pett","Flint","","","","Knapped/flaked","","Incomplete","","Certain","PALAEOLITHIC","","","Gardening","","Mr Jim Inglis","","Mr Julian Watters","BEDFORDSHIRE","","BEDFORD","","","","","TL5025","TL05SE","","","","","","Bedford","From Map","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","35189","flake 2057 all.jpg","images/jwatters/",
