A complete copper-alloy sword or dagger pommel. Cylindrical in shape measuring 57mm in length, 46.2mm in width and 37mm in thickness. There is an oval shaped perforation running through the pommel which is larger and oval shaped at one end but smaller and more rectangular in shape at the other. The pomel has two opposing moulded projections at the end with the rectangular shaped perforation, which resemble downwards curving leaves. All faces are decorated with diagonal grooves inbetween which there are transverse ridges and grooves with short vertical grooves inbetween these. This pommel is most likely to be late medieval in date.
