Copper alloy steelyard weight. Leaded bronze. Part of a sub-spherical weight. It is decorated with three shields containing a lion rampant, the arms of Poitou and a band of incised lines around the top. The base has been sheared off probably by the plough. Inside is an iron ring slightly smaller than the circumference of the weight. This was possibly used together with the lead to give the object it's weight. Surviving height:41.60mm. Max diameter:60.97mm

Notes:

From paper record 2002. The weight is similar to a type in Bridgwater Museum, Somerset
