A complete cast copper alloy strap fitting or mount dating to the post-medieval period. The fitting is sub-circular in plan and is fashioned in the style of a heraldic, or 'Tudor' rose. The folate projections around the outer edges are nearly all missing, however one survives. On the reverse are two integrally cast attachment prongs which were inserted through a leather strap and folded over to hold the fitting in place. This type of mount is likely to date from c. AD 1500-1700.
