A Medieval (1200-1400) copper-alloy gilt harness pendant suspension mount or hanger: The mounting plat is a sub-T shape with rounded terminals on the cross bar, and at each terminal there is a rivet hole, but the rivets are missing. The lower terminal of the vertical bar divides into two arms, both of which increase in thickness in profile. The terminals of the arms are perforated and support an iron axis bar. Suspended from this spindle is a thick, oval lug which has a broken edge. This is the perforated lug of a harness pendant which is now missing due to the break. The break is not recent. The surface of the mounting plate, on the exterior face, has patches of gilding remaining, otherwise the surface is a mottled mid green colour with is heavily abraded. The mount measures 42.8mm wide, 38.04mm long, 9.69mm thick at the perforated lug. It weighs 12.18g.

The mount probably dates to the 13th to 14th centuries. Cherry (1991) illustrates a similar, slightly more decorative mount, Figure 4, No. 24 and dates this the 13th to 14th centuries.
