Incomplete post-medieval copper alloy dress hook, a repoussé domed trefoil front plate with a central, separate, dome-headed rivet, lead alloy (perhaps solder) on the hollow reverse, and an incomplete three-armed rove or washer on the front secured by the rivet and dividing the domes. Rather obscure decoration on the domes includes punched dots. Read 2008 early post-medieval single sharp-hooked clasp Class D, Type 6. the object would be complete with the addition of three elements, a back plate, a hook and a loop. For examples of the three-armed rove see ibid. nos. 255 and 257. Width 17.5. Thickness 3mm. Rivet length 6.2mm. 16th century.
