Medieval copper alloy buckle of mid-14th to mid-15th century date
The buckle frame is of D-shaped form and is complete but is missing the pin (with a length of 27.8mm, a width of 26.8mm and a weight of 4.1g). The outside edge has a lip and a notch for the missing pin (with a width of 5.0mm). The frame has a continuous curve to the offset and narrowed bar. The sides are of rounded sub-square section (3mm square) and no applied decoration is evident on the frame. The surface is corroded and pitted with a dark-green patina.
