A silver Scottish Medieval coin; a penny of Alexander III (AD 1249 - 1286), second coinage dating from 1280 - 1286, Class Mc. See Seaby number 5055 on page 18 of Coins of Scotland, Ireland and the Islands. There are 24 points on the reverse mullets, suggesting the mint may be Berwick. The coin is 20.1mm diameter and 0.83mm thick, 1.31g.
