Post-medieval copper alloy combination pipe tamper and signet ring. The flat, oval bezel / seal matrix depicts a heart pierced by an arrow between the letters S (retrograde) and I (with a mid-stem cross bar). There is an encircling groove above the base of the conical tamper shank and a collar of three ribs at the top. A standard type with numerous examples on this database (e.g. SWYOR-D0A4F1). Overall length 48mm. Tamper width 6.5mm. Internal diameter of ring 18.5 - 20mm. External diameter / width 20.8mm. Bezel 16.5 x 15mm. 17th century.
