A cast lead alloy pistol ball of Post Medieval date, about AD 1600 - 1800.
The ball is semi flattened, probably as a result of having struck, at high velocity, squarely against a flat, unyielding surface. The impacted side is flat with a diagonal ridge on one side. The non impacted side is domed, and has a horizontal groove running along the centre of the dome.
In its current configuration it is 19.3 mm long, 17.1 mm wide and 12.1 mm thick. It weighs 19.1 g.
It is a mid grey in colour and has an even patina.
