Copper alloy book clasp of Post Medieval date, probably of 16th to 19th century date. The clasp is flat and rectangular. The hooked end is wider, with a slight step 7mm from the end. The other end expands in an arc, and has a rounded-wave edge. The end is decorated with engraved lines and concentric circles around one of the piercings. The clasp was secured by three iron rivets, one of which remains in position. The holes for the rivets were punched through.
