Rotary key

Object type certainty:
Cast copper alloy rotary key, probably of late medieval or Post Medieval date. The key has lost the bow, but is otherwise complete. The stem of the key is short and is hollow with an external diameter of 10.3mm (internal - 7.5mm). The bit (18 x 13.5mm) has one cleft on each side, and is otherwise composed of a number of grooves and channels. The bow was of circular section, and likely to have been oval in shape.
