Object type certainty:

Roman copper alloy bow brooch fragment of uncertain type, possibly a T-shaped type and probably dating to the 1st or 2nd century AD. The brooch was small and is represented by the head and upper bow only.The head is comparatively flat. The brooch employed a spring mechanism, secured by a pierced lug, which is now broken, with no evidence surviving for a slot. The bow is sharply angled from the head and is of D-shaped section. No decoration is now discernible on the brooch.
