Copper alloy coin. Northumbrian Styca possibly in the name of Eanred (808-840), possibly an irregular issue, and, if so, possibly related to the accession of Osbehrt c.850 (Pirie, E. 1991, 'The Northumbrian Coins: single finds and the purse hoard', in Armstrong et al. 1991, Excavations at Lurk Lane Beverley 1979-82, Sheffield Excavation Reports 1, J. Collis, Sheffield, pages 164-167).

Obverse description: Off-centre pellet, large initial cross probably with triangular base.

Obverse inscription: +EAN[R]E

Reverse description: Central cross pattee with narrow arms, possible small initial cross.

Reverse inscription: +.OSBERCHT, some letters possibly inverted

Diameter: 11.9mm, Weight: 1.05gms, die axis: probably 9
