Copper coin. Penny of George III (1760-1820), third issue of Birmingham Soho mint, 1799. Both sides bear diagonal hatching around their edges and the lower part of the reverse image is defaced with the same tool, where occasional vertical cuts produce a cross hatch.

Obverse description: Bust laureate draped right.

Obverse inscription: GEORGIUS DEI [--]

Reverse description: Britannia seated left holding sprig aloft.

Reverse inscription: [BRITANNIA]
