The knop from a silver pin. The pin head is hollow-cast and spherical. The head has applied filigree and granulated ornament. The pin has broken off of the head just at the point where the knop would have joined the pin. The break looks worn. The surface is heavily tarnished.
Notes:
This find was brought at a car boot sale, so therefore the finder, landowner and date of find are unknown. The find went through the Treasure Act process and was disclaimed. The person who brought the object has kindly agreed to donate it to the Sussex Finds Liaison Officers teaching collection.
