Incomplete and bent post-medieval copper alloy book clasp eye plate, rectangular with twin projections that are curled around the corroded remains of an iron bar. Single perforation at slightly convex attachment end. Engraved bordering line at both sides on the face. Extant length (unbent) 37mm. Extant width 18mm. 1mm thick. For more elaborate examples of this type of clasp see Margeson 1993, 74-5, pl. XIII. Later 16th century.
