Medieval, cast copper alloy buckle with an oval frame and an integral, divided, plate. On the outside edge of the frame is a small lip. Wrapped around a notch at the junction of the frame and plate are the remains of a wire pin. There appear to have been two transverse mouldings in this area. Width 15.6mm, Length 37.0mm, Thickness 2.4mm, Mass 3.30g. In London buckles of this form were found in contexts dated to 1350-1450 (Egan and Pritchard 1991, 78-82).
