An incomplete copper alloy early medieval hooked tag of Read's Class A Type 2 c. AD 600 - 1066. The hooked tag consists of a circular plate with two incomplete circular attachment holes at the attachment end. The plate is decorated on the obverse with an indistint incised design which may depict a stylised cross pattee surrounded by a pellet border. The triangular hook extends from the bottom of the plate and terminates in an old break. The hooked tag has a mottled brown and green patina and is heavily worn.
The hooked tag measures 28.25mm in length, is 21.04mm wide, is 1.01mm thick and weighs 2.40g.
