A cast copper-alloy heraldic harness mount of medieval date, c. AD 1250-1328. It is shield shaped and has an integral mounting stud, set slightly off centre, on the reverse. There is red enamel on the front of the mount and faint marks also suggest the presence of a fess (transverse band) in a metallic colour, although insufficient detail remains to identify the armorial bearing. This stud was quoted by Baker (2015, 8). He attributes it to the Beauchamp family, with the following blazon: 'Gules a fess between six martlets or'. If so, it might be attributable to either father (d. 1303) or son (d. 1328) Walter de Beauchamp. The exposed metal displays a dark brown patina.
The mount is 28mm long, 23.6mm wide and 10.2mm thick. It weighs 11.23 g
