The lid of a cast copper-alloy seal box of Roman date, c. 50-275.
The lid is drop-shaped in plan, with the base of a broken single lug in the centre of its rounded end, and a broken tip at the opposite end. The lid retains enamel on its outer surface, separated into an outer panel and inner, heart-shaped panel. The outer panels appears to bear red enamel. The colour of the inner panel cannot be determined. The underside of the lid is very worn, but the walls remain along one length of the lid.
