The foot terminal of an Anglo-Saxon great square-headed brooch cast in copper-alloy, dating to the 6th century.
Only the foot terminal remains, consisting of a sub-circular disc with a short length of the remaining foot projecting from the disc. The face is decorated moulded linear motif from the foot projecting into the centre of the terminal, consisting of a broad band flanked by two smaller bands and ending in a mask motif, all within a raised, moulded border. Surrounding the mask-motif on the terminal is an outer crescent-shaped band with continuous scroll decoration in relief. The reverse is undecorated. The break is very abraded.
