Incomplete and distorted medieval copper alloy pendent loop from a purse frame of Ward Perkins 1940, Type A1 or A2, broken at both ends. The cross-section is C- or L-shaped and there are three attachment holes, one truncated by a break. All niello inlay has been lost from deeply engraved letters and scrolled motifs on the front face. There are two groups of apparently garbled letters ]ILI SOI.I
