THIMBLE

Medieval copper alloy domed thimble with folding at the base. There are two encircling grooves just above the base and below forty-eight vertical rows of seven to nine small round indentations. Above these are five concentric rings of the same around a plain top with a central indentation. Cf. Egan 1998, nos. 821-5. Diameter 16.5mm. Height 13mm. 14th century.
