Copper alloy gilt button. Hollow composite button with a drawn wire loop. The front beards a gilded relief motif of thistle, rose and shamrock, and circumferential legend reading: MANCHESTER, SHEFFIELD & LINCOLNSHIRE RAILWAY (operating from its amalgamation in 1847 until becoming the Grand Central Railway in 1897). Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1850-1897.
