Lead weight. Cast discoid weight with rim, perhaps from a nesting set, with the legend 5G in relief. Lightly patinated overall. The use of a metric measure must place this after 1800, when Napoleon introduced the metric system for France and her European Empire, and presumably dates to after the final defeat of Napoleon (1815) in an English context. It is interesting that despite being complete this object lacks about 10% of its notional weight. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1820-1900.
Diameter: 17.6mm, Thickness (at rim): 2.5mm, Weight: 4.42gms.
