A slightly worn silver sixpence of William III (AD 1694-1702) dated 1697, mint of York. The coin is bent in two directions and some attempt has been made to make the obverse surface smooth; many consider these to be 'love tokens', given as gifts to sweethearts. Spink (2011) 3536.
