A complete copper-alloy rectangular strap fitting possibly a mount or belt stiffener of Medieval date.
The plates are flat and undecorated. In the centre is a circular rivet hole, still containing the corroded remains of a separately cast iron rivet.
This strap fitting measures 17.48mm in length, 8.27mm in width, 2.61mm in thickness, 0.80g in weight.
There is a similar example from London (Egan and Pritchard, 1991, p.225, no. 1209).
