An incomplete copper alloy hooked tag of early-medieval date. The hooked tag is of Reads Class E, Type 1 being circular in plan. The main plate consists of a circular panel with small central drilled hole and angular attachment knops projecting from one edge. A short and broken hook extends from the opposite end of the plate. The hooked tag is extremely worn with any possible decoration having been removed.
The metal has a mid reddish-brown patina and is worn. The hooked tag is 18.8mm long, 9mm wide, 1.9mm thick and weighs 0.8g.
A similar example is illustrated in Read, p.31, no.132 and is dated to the early medieval period.
